At Newport Stair & Millwork, we often find ourselves tasked with very unique projects. We are detail oriented, whether it be historic preservation, green building or simply bringing your imagined project to life. The craftsman at Newport Stair & Millwork have designed, fabricated and installed many unique mixed material items. We also specialize in custom deck projects.

FORT ADAMS PROJECT
In 2001, Newport Stair & Millwork was tasked to reproduce a "24 pounder" casement cannon carriage under the direction of Colonel Frank Hale, we reproduced an exact replica of the cannon carriage from original drawings from the Fort's Archives.

Newport Stair worked closely with Jay Christman of Newport Forging and Welding to hand forge replicas of the original "Irons" or wrought iron fasteners and pieces as per the original drawings. We obtained 24' long heavy timbers in order to reproduce a full scale cannon carriage.
